I'm going to the South Carolina Region SCCA race at Carolina Motorsports Park to watch a friend of a friend race his Formula Continental (pictured: his old Continental). I think there are a couple other races going on tomorrow but I don't know for sure. I'm pretty excited though. Plus I'll be there instead of being stuck in traffic for the 100k+ pseudo wealthy motherfuckers that flood Camden for the Carolina Cup every year and get shitfaceded and fall over and ruin my town for the weekend! I'll try to take pictures and video and report back!

If you haven't had the chance to be at an SCCA race before, Spec Miata (pinata) and Spec Racer Ford are usually two extremely close races worth watching. The cars are not loud or extremely quick, but they battle.

I checked the weather last night and it promised severe thunderstorms, hail, fire and brimstone, earthquakes, severe flooding and meteorite strikes so we decided not to go. I wake up and the whole storm split around the entire state so we will get no weather at all today. Now the traffic will be too bad to check out the race :/ I actually happened to be at CMP a couple years ago racing their rental karts with some friends when there was a Spec Miata race going on. We watched a good bit of it and it was pretty intense!

Yeah, I'm in St. Pete and we got the weather instead. If you get the chance to watch SCCA racing, even the club/amateur stuff can be pretty good.
